Lifting Nubbing

The oil lifting nubbing (or lifting nipple) is a key tool in tripping operations, specifically designed to connect and safely lift non-shouldered pipe strings such as drill collars and drill pipes, preventing damage to premium threads during handling.

This tool is typically manufactured from high-strength alloy steel such as AISI 4145HM and undergoes quenching and tempering heat treatment, providing excellent comprehensive mechanical properties.

In terms of specifications, the product’s outer diameter typically ranges from 2-7/8″ to 7-5/8″. All connection threads strictly comply with the API Spec 7-1 standard, with common thread types including REG, IF, and FH, ensuring precise matching and interchangeability with other components of the drill string.
